Flowers are a symbol for joy. The aim of Flower Label Program is to make this joy sustainable and to share it with those who produce the flowers: Flowers with the FLP-Label are produced in a way that cares for man and environment. As a joint initiative of human rights organisations, trade unions, flower producers and flower retailers the Flower Label Program implements social and environmental standards in flower production.

 

FLP-certified farms have to fulfil the following criteria:

· Living wages

· Freedom of association

· Non-discrimination

· A Ban on child labour and forced labour

· Health care

· A ban on toxic pesticides

· Responsible handling of natural ressources

 

The FLP-standard bases on the International Code for the Production of cutflowers, ferns, plants and foliage. The criteria of FLP are controlled by independent auditors. Human rights organisations and unions have the right to make spot checks.
