FLP-Flowers from Ecuador: Striving for Co2 neutrality

Global responsibilty goes far beyond the own company: FLP flower farms in Ecuador do not only fulfil the social and environmental standards fixed in FLP Guidelines but assume also their responsibility for the climate. The farms joined in th project"Co2-neutral" and calculate supported by a scientist their Co2 emissions. These calculations consider emissions of transport (of the flowers as well as of deliveries and employees), the use of electricity, combustibles, fertilizers, pesticides and packaging as well as the emissions caused by the contruction of buildings. As soon as there are concrete results about the carbon-emissions these will be decompensated by adecuate projects. The participants of the project think of a reforestation project or the purchase of Co2-quotes.
